I just received a notice that portions of Highway 64 near our neighborhood will be completely closed for the weekend.
Felicia Henderson with St. Louis City posted on Next Door:
MoDOT says at midnight, crews will completely shut down 40 westbound between Ewing and Kingshighway for utility work near the Tower Grove area. Two westbound lanes may close as early as8 p.m. Friday night.
MoDOT is also closing the ramps from Pine, Jefferson, market and Grand onto 40 west. MoDOT is advising drivers to use I-70, I-44, or I-55 this weekend to get out of Downtown.
I’ve found Next Door to be a valuable information source from the city about things happening which affect us all. I encourage you to sign up as I only pass on select announcements on the West Pine – Laclede Neighborhood Association site.
Additional information can be found at Fox 2 Now. An excerpt from the article is below:
The detour for I-64/40 west will be to get off at Forest Park Avenue then follow Forest Park to Kingshighway and get back on the freeway at Kingshighway. All of the lanes and ramps are set to reopen by 5:00am Monday.
This is all part of an ongoing project to improve the flow of traffic around Kingshighway and into the Barnes and Washington University medical campus.
