MINUTES from the March meeting were reviewed but could not be approved because we did not have a quorum. No corrections were suggested.
GUEST SPEAKER: Ms. Michelle Sherod, candidate for Missouri State Senate, attended and gave a presentation on why she is running and on her platform. TREASURER’S REPORT – Terry Werner
- $7,327.64 – time deposit account
- $2,433.00 – checking
- $1,061.52 – savings
Income includes funds from dues and from Regis for the median planter on West Pine at Boyle. Expenses for landscaping the planter are expected to be submitted.
Reminder: annual dues are due. Many of our regular members have not yet renewed because we haven’t been meeting. See https://westpinelaclede.com/join/ to enroll or renew membership.
BEAUTIFICATION:
Lorraine Simpson thanked the 12 volunteers who helped clean up the cul-de-sac at West Pine and Sarah. She commented on the good work being done on the two median planters on Laclede and suggested a gift certificate to Dr. Michael Gerdine for continuing to provide water for the planter on Laclede at Boyle. The suggestion was unanimously approved and Terry Werner will purchase a $100 gift certificate from Juniper and give it to Lorraine to be delivered to Dr. Gerdine.
SECURITY :
Marshall Michener learned from Jim Whyte, Director, Neighborhood Security Initiative, that crime is up 10 to 15% from last year. Terry Werner reported a break-in of a locked car on West Pine. Lorraine Simpson told of a trespasser arrested on Saturday near Boyle and West Pine.
DEVELOPMENT: No report.
Alderman Joe Roddy and Neighborhood Improvement Specialist Ron Coleman were not present.
The meeting adjourned at 7:40 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Diana Gualdoni
Secretary
Postscript from Beautification Committee:
We would like to thank all of the hard working volunteers who helped during this very difficult season. It seemed even more important for people to have a nice place to go and take a walk and get out of the house this year, so your help has been greatly appreciated. We hope we haven’t left out any volunteers! If your last name or group who helped isn’t there, it is because we didn’t have it, but wanted you acknowledged. Also, note that many of these volunteers contribute their time every year, not just 2020.

WE NEED VOLUNTEERS!
We are Interested in having volunteers all season for planting, weeding, watering and neighborhood pick up of debris. (We will provide a tool for pickup for debris).
Gardening is great exercise and debris pickup could be incorporated in a morning or evening walk.
