The West Pine Laclede Neighborhood Association will meet on Tuesday, May 11th at 7 pm at Northwest Coffee, 4251 Laclede (at Boyle).  We are thrilled to be able to meet in person after a year of Zoom meetings, but please continue to wear your mask.  All are welcome!

We are honored that our new Alderwoman Tina “Sweet T” Pihl has indicated that she may be able to join us.     

The minutes from our April meeting and copied below and will be presented for approval at the upcoming meeting. We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday.

President Harold Karabell called the meeting to order at 7:15 pm.     

MINUTES (Diana Gualdoni) :  March minutes were approved unanimously as written. 

TREASURER’S REPORT (Terry Werner)   

            Checking:        $1,619.89  (after expenditures for fence and mulch)   

            Savings:           $1,168.65

            Time deposit:  $7,427.68  

Membership was reminded that dues are due this month.  New and renewal memberships are welcomed.  Venmo is now an option.  Details are at https://westpinelaclede.com/join/

DEVELOPMENT (Harold Karabell) : 

The property at 4308 Laclede has been purchased by Mr. Shivaram who proposes to remove the existing foundation and build a  new 3-unit townhome.  He presented elevation drawings (attached) and requested a letter of support from the association.  After a brief discussion his request was approved.  

OTHER:

The primary purpose of this month’s meeting (our first in-person gathering in over a year) was to honor and thank retiring Alderman Joe Roddy after 33 years of service.  Lorraine Simpson and her crew arranged for food and beverages and arranged a table of photographs, historical and current, showing how our neighborhood has grown and changed.

Many words of appreciation were followed by a champagne toast and celebration.
