Good afternoon, neighbors! This is a friendly reminder of our upcoming neigborhood association meeting on June 9th, 7:00pm at Northwest Coffee on Laclede Ave.

Our featured speaker at this month’s meeting will be Jim Whyte. As many of us know, Jim is the Executive Director of the Central West End Neighborhood Security Initiative (NSI). Jim will be speaking with us about the disturbing series of vehicle break-ins (“car cloutings,” in the urban vernacular) that have taken place in and around our neighborhood during the past week. There also apparently has been an enormous increase in “car cloutings” in other neighborhoods throughout the City as well. Please see the attached post from the SLMPD.

In addition, we share our deepest thanks for a job extremely well done done to Katie, the Neighborhood Association’s Beautification Committee Chair, and her team of volunteers for their Labors Of Love on Saturday May 30th as part of Operation Brightside’s “Neighborhood Cleanup Blitz.”  Katie and approximately 12 other members of the Association did a magnificent job picking up trash & trimming back overgrown weeds throughout the neighborhood, including the most unkempt and unsightly parts of our frequently abused alleys.
