12/12/23 WPLNA  Meeting Minutes

–  Harold opened the meeting at 7:06pm

–  Introductions were given

Alex and Sarah Lakin were present to discuss their new ownership of the Scottish Arms on Sarah St.

  • Both have been long time STL city residents and have a history in restaurant and hotel management in our area.
  • They are currently applying for a standard 1:30am liquor license which will require 150 signatures. Alex and Sarah are seeking support on this and will likely be reaching out to neighbors.
  • The Scottish Arms name will remain as well as the current style and atmosphere.
  • There was a question/concern about “sidewalk seating”. Sarah says they do not intend to put tables out.  This is being applied for only as a courtesy to smokers to step outside.  There is currently one small table out and this is all they intend to keep.  The back patio will remain as the only outdoor serving area.

  • Vacant Kingshighway properties have been purchased by North Point developer.
  • A sinkhole behind the Renmore was brought up as well as fire hazard concerns. Ron Coleman says inspectors have been present to look at these.
