Crime update

“Last night there were two more robbery events however the police made several arrests. The first event occurred at 4050 West Pine just before 6pm. A man and woman were assaulted and property was taken. The next event happened at Laclede and Newstead at approximately 5:15pm. The victim was assaulted and property was taken. This just in from the Central West End Neighborhood Security Initiative: “Last night there were 4 robbery incidents that happened in approximately the same area and very close to the same time frame. WPLNA crime update

There have been several break-ins/burglaries in the neighborhood in recent weeks. Early in September a burglar was discovered in a residence in the 4300 block of West Pine. The offender escaped with some belongings but no one was hurt and the police responded quickly. Backyard theft and attempted garage break-in

Last week Terry Werner reported a miter saw was stolen from his back yard and the next night an attempted break-in in their garage/study.  The police were brought in but there are no suspects at this time.  Be advised that these kinds of activities are still going on (although the frequency has dropped) and be vigilant about suspicious characters in the alleys.

Garage Burglary on 4/5

On Sunday afternoon, the neighborhood ATV patrol interrupted a garage burglary in the 4100 block of West Pine(my house).  The burglars accessed the backyard by cutting off a padlock on the fence gate and entered the garage through a side door.  Officer Mataya was patrolling the alley and noticed their suspicious behavior.  He chased down and arrested one of the two suspects who is now in custody.  The other fled the scene in a green Read More…

Burglary on 3/27

There was a burglary on the night of the 27th at 4312 Laclede. The break-in at the took place via a basement window around 9:30 at night which tripped the alarm.  Taken was an iPhone from the night stand of the victim. The victim awoke to the intruder near her bed. This is obviously a very frightening experience and concerning crime trend considering similar instances.
