Police announced this morning that they are treating the shooting death of Jocelyn Peters in the 4200 block of West Pine as a homicide instead of a suicide as had been indicated earlier. No signs of forced entry and no weapon was recovered. This has now been reported by KMOV and the Post Dispatch. I will follow this and will post any developments as I get them. Very sad and shocking.
There have been several thefts from the garage at 4200 Laclede this last week involving bicycle equipment. At least one set of photos of the perpetrators from security cameras have been provided to the police.

On Thursday, 02/18/16, at approximately 9:10pm, A young woman was the victim of a street robbery. As she was getting out of her car at 4550 Forest Park (near Euclid) she was approached by 4 suspects. A suspect in the car jacking that occurred early Friday morning at the Schnuck’s on Lindell is now in custody. Police were following up a lead based on evidence provided by one of the victim. Thankfully, no one was injured in the incident.

“Last night there were two more robbery events however the police made several arrests. The first event occurred at 4050 West Pine just before 6pm. A man and woman were assaulted and property was taken. The next event happened at Laclede and Newstead at approximately 5:15pm. The victim was assaulted and property was taken. There have been several break-ins/burglaries in the neighborhood in recent weeks. Early in September a burglar was discovered in a residence in the 4300 block of West Pine. The offender escaped with some belongings but no one was hurt and the police responded quickly. Last week Terry Werner reported a miter saw was stolen from his back yard and the next night an attempted break-in in their garage/study. The police were brought in but there are no suspects at this time. Be advised that these kinds of activities are still going on (although the frequency has dropped) and be vigilant about suspicious characters in the alleys.
