The St. Louis police department have announced an arrest in the case involving the tragic murder in March of the pregnant school teacher, Jocelyn Peters of West Pine Boulevard.

KMOV reports this morning that, over the weekend, the police apprehended the bicycle thief that had been responsible for a large number of thefts in the CWE in the past few months. Many thanks to Jim Whyte and the NSI for publicizing the videos and images of the man’s previous burglaries, which ultimately led to the man’s identification and arrest.
Police announced this morning that they are treating the shooting death of Jocelyn Peters in the 4200 block of West Pine as a homicide instead of a suicide as had been indicated earlier. No signs of forced entry and no weapon was recovered. This has now been reported by KMOV and the Post Dispatch. I will follow this and will post any developments as I get them. Very sad and shocking.
There have been several thefts from the garage at 4200 Laclede this last week involving bicycle equipment. At least one set of photos of the perpetrators from security cameras have been provided to the police.

On Thursday, 02/18/16, at approximately 9:10pm, A young woman was the victim of a street robbery. As she was getting out of her car at 4550 Forest Park (near Euclid) she was approached by 4 suspects. One indicated he had a gun and punched her in the face knocking her to the ground. The suspects took her purse, car keys and phone and ran south toward the Metro stop. A suspect in the car jacking that occurred early Friday morning at the Schnuck’s on Lindell is now in custody. Police were following up a lead based on evidence provided by one of the victim. Thankfully, no one was injured in the incident.

“Last night there were two more robbery events however the police made several arrests. The first event occurred at 4050 West Pine just before 6pm. A man and woman were assaulted and property was taken. The next event happened at Laclede and Newstead at approximately 5:15pm. The victim was assaulted and property was taken.
